What Is Composite Veneer?

Composite veneer is aesthetic filling applications made to the front surfaces of the teeth without damaging them. In this procedure, white composite fillings, which are also preferred in aesthetic anterior tooth fillings, are used.

How Are Composite Veneer Done?

First, the dentist carefully cleans the teeth and prepares them for treatment. Then, the processes begin on the teeth that are free from tartar and plaque. Special acids are applied to the tooth surface to ensure that the composite veneer material adheres better to the tooth. Solutions called bonding are applied to ensure adhesion between the roughened tooth surface and the composite. Composite filling, which is preferred according to the color of the teeth, is applied to the surface areas of the teeth with the help of a special brush. Blue light is used to make the applied material hard. In the next stage, it is shaped by the dentist according to the tooth form. Finally, the polishing process is performed and the teeth gain an aesthetic appearance.

When Is Composite Veneer Applied?

Composite veneer is applied routinely to change the shape and color of the anterior teeth, to close the defects on the tooth surface and to provide an aesthetic appearance. To prolong the life of the composite veneer, patients should brush their teeth at least twice a day and floss every day.
