Fluoride application is a treatment that aims to strengthen the teeth and make them more resistant to decay. It is applied to both primary and permanent teeth in children.

How Are Fluorine Application Done?

Fluoride is applied by contacting the teeth with fluoride in gel form with special disposable spoons. This application is done with the help of a spoon in the mouth for about 2 or 4 minutes. After the procedure is over, excess fluorine gel is removed with a saliva ejector.

In Which Situation Is Fluorine Application Made?

What Should Be Done After Fluoride Application?

Your child should not rinse their mouth or eat or drink anything for 60 minutes after fluoride application. Milk and dairy products should not be consumed until the morning of the next day. 

Fluoride applications are a supportive treatment in preventing dental caries. For this reason, to take care of standard oral care after fluoride applications; It will be sufficient to brush the teeth at least twice a day, use dental floss and mouthwash.
